Karakoram, in collaboration with Teton Gravity Research, is proud to announce the release of the “Higher” Limited Edition PRIME splitboard bindings. The “Higher” bindings are to mark and celebrate the final chapter in Jeremy Jones’ Deeper, Further, Higher trilogy and will all be offered using Karakoram’s new groundbreaking PRIME Interface platform, which cuts change-over time down to less than two minutes.
“We felt a need celebrate the monumental journey Jeremy has taken with the Deeper, Further, Higher trilogy of films by offering a product that’s unique to the release of the final film,” said Chad Perrin, Global Sales and Marketing Director at Karakoram. “It marks the first time we have offered an anodized finished product in our offerings and this release will highlight our new PRIME system, which is used by athletes in the film,” Perrin said.
Karakoram will be offering the Higher binding in Black Anodized Aluminum and in Limited quantities on the PRIME One, SL, and PRIME CARBON models. The PRIME CARBON model weighs in at only 675 grams a binding, but all the models in the Higher PRIME line include the brand’s simple and quick interface system that includes 4 wide pre-loaded contacts that allow for more direct power transfer to your edges.
The PRIME series also includes Power Link levers, which allow for a quick lock-down into ride mode and Tour Step, which allows you to step into tour or ride mode without taking your binding off your boot. For those wary of dropping a lot of coin on a single pair of splitboard bindings, Karakoram’s Quiver Connector allows you to transfer your Karakoram bindings directly to your solid board.
Each set purchased will come with a copy of Higher and a Karakoram t-shirt as a bonus and are available exclusively on the Karakoram website only. The Higher PRIME bindings will ship in early October, 2014. Ride what Jeremy rides!
