[br]Tyler and I drove out to our injection molding supplier last night to check out our First Article Tip/Tail Clips. Most companies now days go offshore for plastic components, so we’re really excited to be working with a local shop that’s 25 minutes away. The Tip/Tail Clips are really simple parts, so there wasn’t much to inspect. The tool needs to have the surface finish smoothed out in one spot, but other than that we’re good to go.

The Tip/Tail Clips snap into place nicely and are incredibly stiff and tough. We’ve worked directly with Dupont engineers to select the best plastic for our injection molded components. For most of our parts we are using Zytel ST to optimize the strength and toughness.

Karakoram Tip/Tail Clips and Splitboard Clips will be standard on Jones, Lib Tech, and Gnu splitboards. We will also have Tip/Tail clips for sale in our store for $12.00 (2x Tip/Tail Clips, 4x Stainless Steel Rivets, 2x Stand-offs).
